Regional Medical Center (RMC) is a leading hospital serving East San Jose with advanced emergency care. With a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and support staff, RMC provides high-quality, patient-centered care and remains a key provider in the region, offering 24/7 emergency services and a commitment to excellence in patient outcomes. Now part of Santa Clara Valley Healthcare, RMC continues to play a critical role in delivering accessible medical care to the community as a designated Level II Trauma Center and a thrombectomy-capable primary stroke center, further enhancing its ability to provide life-saving interventions for patients with complex medical emergencies.

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) is the community’s healthcare safety net. It provides high-quality tertiary care as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Regional Burn Center, STEMI, and Stroke Receiving Center. SCVMC also has an exceedingly capable PICU and NICU. The Emergency Department sees approximately 75,000 patients each year and hosts Emergency Medicine residents rotating from Stanford.

O’Connor Hospital was founded in 1889 as one of the first hospitals in Santa Clara County. The Emergency Department sees approximately 70,000 patients each year.

Opened in 1958 in Fremont, California, Washington Hospital is a well-resourced 415-bed, acute-care hospital.  The hospital is affiliated with UCSF. The ED sees approximately 57,000 patients each year.  Washington Hospital also recently received Level II trauma designation in Alameda County.

St. Louise Regional Hospital

Since 1989, St. Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH) has been caring for the Santa Clara and San Benito Counties residents as the only acute care hospital in the area. Saint Louise’s Emergency Department sees approximately 40,000 patients each year.  SLRH is currently in the planning stages for trauma designation and has a CalStar Helicopter base on the premises for ease of transfer.
